Everybody loves a Do-Over

Thursday, January 17, 2019

Well… hello there!

Long time no read 😊

How has your 2019 been so far? Still in the “New Year… New Me” bubble, or you’re back to your regular iyalaya self??

Lol.

My 2019 has been a lot of new things. New city, new gig, new acquaintances, new weather

(Lord… no one prepared me for this c-c-c-c-old!!)

It’s been interesting all the same. Learning new stuff, and loving it all the way. So yes, I could truthfully say that for me… it’s been sorta “New Year, New me”.

I’ve been wondering: what is it about a new year that makes everyone soooooo positive? So optimistic, all shiny, hopeful… new?

What is it??

The only explanation I can come up with is that everybody likes a Do-Over. The promise of a fresh start, even in old set ways.

And that is why at the start of the year, we set all these goals and aspirations that we could actually always set at any time in the year. But the thought of that ‘newness’ gives us the push.

But that’s ok. It is no bad thing to like or look forward to a Do-Over.

As you go through the rest of the year, make best use of this Do-Over. Remember why you decided to do the things you said you will do, at the beginning of the year.

And if at some time during the year, you feel overwhelmed… there is no shame in unplugging every now and then, and giving yourself another Do-Over. The important thing is you achieve your set goal, and do not quit.

I wish you the very best of 2019. May it be your best year yet.

Paz,

Meg.
